BOOK SIGNING: 12-4pm
Q&A RECEPTION: 5-7pm
Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Buy your tickets here!
Roger, alongside his wife and collaborator, James Deakins will be sharing stories and insight about their experience in the film industry in an engaging Q&A, which will be moderated by Beverly Wood, whom the Deakins worked with for over 30 years on various films.
His book, BYWAYS is a collection of previously unpublished personal black-and-white stills that reflect a life spent looking and telling stories through images, from 1971 to the present. After graduating from college, Roger spent a year photographing life in rural North Devon on a commission for the Beaford Arts Centre; these images attest to a keenly ironic English sensibility, and also serve as a record of a time and place of vanished post-war Britain.
There are three ticket options:
* ALL-ACCESS: $80 (Includes an autographed copy of BYWAYS (valued at $55) and entry to the Q&A reception – $25) (12pm-4pm)
* PRE-ORDER BYWAYS book ONLY: $55
* Q&A reception ONLY: $25 (5-7pm)
If you already have a copy of his book, you can attend the book signing to have it autographed.
Also, at the event, attendees can purchase raffle tickets to win an opportunity to enjoy brunch with Roger and James Deakins and Beverly Wood at a local restaurant.
Proceeds will benefit Save Our Heritage, a nonprofit organization focused on historic preservation-based in Chase City, Virginia that is working to restore the Mecca Theatre. Wood is retired and lives in her hometown, Chase City, and leads the restoration efforts.
